Malai Pudding
Producing malai is a complicated and time consuming process. Here in this recipe we are trying to achieve the consistency of malai by adding milk powder to the milk. So it is an imitation of the true malai pudding. Try it and enjoy it.
Ingredients
Milk 2 cup
Milk powder 3 Tablespoon
Sugar 3 Tablespoon
Cardamom powder a pinch
Gelatine 1 tablespoon
Almond flakes for decoration.
For caramelising
Sugar 3 tablespoon
Water 2 tablespoon
Preparation
Heat milk in a pan, add the cardamom powder, 3 tablespoon sugar and milk powder and allow to boil.
Once boiled remove from heat and keep aside.
In a thick bottomed pan caramelise 3 tablespoon sugar adding 2 tablespoon water.
Once the sugar is caramelised pour the milk mix into the pan, add the gelatine, mix well and cook till the gelatine is dissolved.
Remove from heat and fill in a suitable mould to set.
Garnish with fried almond flakes.
Once it reaches room temperature place it in a fridge for an hour or two.
Take out from the fridge and cut into pieces of suitable size and serve.
