Orange Lime Juice Cake
All purpose flour 170 gram
Baking powder 5 grams
Butter 90 gram
Powdered sugar 50 gram
Yoghurt 3 tablespoons
For the caramel
Orange 1 large
Lemon 1 Large
Sugar 100 gram
Corn starch 2 tablespoon
Mix the all purpose flour, a pinch salt and the baking powder in a bowl.
Add the butter and mix it with the flour thoroughly.
Add the powdered sugar and yoghurt, mix well and knead fo a few minutes till the batter becomes soft.
Separate 1/3 of the dough, roll it into a ball and wrap it in plastic foil and place it in the deep freezer.
Now prepare a round cake form and flatten the rest of the dough evenly in the cake form.and keep aside.
Take the zest of both the orange and lemon and keep aside.
Peel the orange and lemon and cut them in small pieces, remove the seeds and mix using a mixer grinder.
Now extract the juice using a sieve, and keep aside.
Now heat the orange lemon juice, add the sugar, orange lemon zest and the corn starch (corn flour) and cook till the corn flour is cooked and the mixture becomes a thick cream.
Now pour the orange lemon creme into the prepared cake form.
take the 1/3 of the dough from the deep freezer and sprinkle it evenly over the cream using a scrapper.
Preheat oven to 180°c and bake the cake for at least 40 minutes till the cake becomes golden colour.
